We’ve been busy bees behind the scenes, and we’re delighted to welcome you to a brand new part of our website — our bee blog!
This is where we’ll be lifting the lid on the hive and sharing a little more of the wonderful, occasionally frustrating and endlessly fascinating world of beekeeping.
Expect plenty of bees, honey and practical beekeeping, along with seasonal updates from the apiary, what’s flowering and when, the challenges facing our bees, and the odd tale of what happens when several thousand bees decide they know better than the beekeeper!
We’ll also be looking at the bigger issues affecting British beekeeping — from changing weather and farming to pests such as Varroa and the increasingly concerning Tropilaelaps mite.
And, of course, there will be honey. How our bees make it, why one year’s crop can taste completely different from the next, and what makes honey produced here in the East of England so special.
