The Asian hornet is a highly aggressive invasive species that was first detected in the UK in 2016. Since then, there have been annual confirmed sightings of the Asian hornet and in 2023 the numbers rose sharply to more than the previous six years combined!
One Asian hornet can eat 30-50 honey bees each day!
