East Anglia is proud to stock and supply this Soapstone Elephant Oil Burner, a beautifully hand-carved home accessory created by skilled artisans in Agra, India.
Featuring an intricate elephant design, each burner reflects a long tradition of Indian stone carving. These techniques have been passed down through generations in a region renowned for its ornate stonework, including the craftsmanship seen throughout the Taj Mahal.
Made from natural soapstone, the burner is carefully carved and wet-sanded to create a smooth finish. Because stone is a natural material and every piece is made by hand, subtle variations in colour and pattern make each burner unique.
The supplier directly employs 15 people and supports a further 35 skilled, self-employed artisans. The burner measures approximately 6.5 cm wide, 6.5 cm deep and 8.5 cm high.
Add water and a few drops of fragrance oil to the upper dish, then place a lit tealight beneath it. Always position the burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave a burning candle unattended.
